Class Description

Pattern - Cameron button up shirt from Helen's Closet helensclosetpatterns.com/product/cameron-button-up/ Skill Level: Intermediate Students must be confident using a sewing machine and following a pattern. Students should have completed several projects and be ready to level up their skills. This class will include homework. This pattern is a classic button up with all the design details you want in an everyday shirt and interesting construction methods, including collar and collar stand, front button placket, and optional chest pocket. For this class we will be making the short sleeve version for summer! The pattern is designed to be gender inclusive and has a boxy fit from chest to hip. We will discuss ways to fit the pattern to your body including lengthening/shortening and grading between sizes to achieve your desired fit. In this class students will learn: -How to assemble and sew a collar with collar stand -How to sew a box pleat -How to make a button placket -How to attach a yoke with the burrito method -How to set in sleeves Materials List (purchase and bring to class) -Fabric yardage according to the pattern -Matching thread (polyester) -(8) ⅜” - ½” buttons Sincere Studio will be providing students with patterns and other notions needed! photo used with permission from Helen's Closet
