Free Range Slacks - Elastic Waist Pants

Class Description

Skill level: Advanced Beginner/Intermediate Students should be comfortable operating a sewing machine and sewing a straight stitch. Students should have completed a few sewing projects and be ready to level up. Prerequisite Intro to Sewing class or equivalent. This pattern is the perfect entry point into making your own pants! A simple relaxed fit design, with interesting construction details. These elastic waist pants are perfect secret pajamas, comfy enough for lounging, but super stylish and cute on all types of bodies. Students will learn important sewing skills, terms, and techniques. We’ll be using the Free Range Slacks Pattern from Sew House Seven. This pattern ranges from size 00 to 34. Patterns will be provided to students and students will be taking their pattern home with them at the end of the class! In this class students will learn: How to lay out, read, and interpret a pattern. How to sew from a pattern, including straight and curved seams. How to finish seams with pinking shears. How to insert elastic into a channel. How to hem Materials List: -Fabric (midweight linen-cotton blends, lightweight canvas, midweight cotton twill, quilting cotton) , washed and ironed before class.
